Carpool Almaguin is aimed at providing an easily accessible, affordable, transportation system for the residents of the District of Parry Sound. We are using Pick Up Pal as a platform for this. The lack of public transportation and the cost of personal transportation have long been noted as one of the greatest barriers to employment in our area. As many of our employment opportunities are located in North Bay, Huntsville, or Parry Sound, a distance for many of 60+ km, the cost to operate a vehicle takes a huge percentage of wages earned and can also prevent some people from seeking out these employment opportunities. It is for these reasons among many others why Carpool Almaguin will be a huge benefit to the area and it's communities.
